While evaluations are organized by common referral concerns such as ADHD, autism, learning differences, and mental health, every assessment is tailored to the individual. What to Expect: Our Evaluation Process

Every evaluation follows a structured, collaborative process designed to be thorough, efficient, and as comfortable as possible for you or your child.

Step 01

Free 15-Minute Consultation

It starts with a conversation. You'll complete our brief contact form and we'll reach out to schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone call. Dr. Gau will listen to your concerns, answer your questions, discuss what type of evaluation makes sense, and provide a transparent pricing estimate. No obligation, no pressure.

Step 04

Your Testing Day

You'll come to our office in Wheat Ridge for a mix of standardized tasks, activities, questionnaires, and a comprehensive clinical interview. The specific tests depend on your evaluation type. Some may feel like puzzles or games; others involve paperwork or conversation. Dr. Gau keeps the environment calm and supportive throughout.

Step 02

Schedule Your Testing Day

Once you decide to move forward, we'll book your testing appointment at our Wheat Ridge or Steamboat, Colorado office. Most evaluations are completed in a single day, though some complex cases may require a follow-up session. Immediate appointments are often available.

Step 05

Feedback Session

After scoring and interpreting your results and completing your report (typically three to four weeks), Dr. Gau will meet with you via phone for a dedicated feedback session. You'll receive a full explanation of the results, any diagnoses, and detailed, individualized recommendations for next steps. The remaining balance is due at this session.

Step 03

Complete Intake Paperwork

Before your testing day, you'll receive digital intake, disclosure, and release of information forms to complete at your convenience. This paperwork helps Dr. Gau understand your background and primary concerns. Half of the estimated cost is due at the start of your testing appointment.

Step 06

Your Written Report

Shortly after your feedback session, you'll receive a comprehensive written report via email. It includes your testing results, clinical observations, diagnostic impressions, psychosocial history, and specific recommendations. Many clients use this report to access school accommodations, workplace supports, state services, or therapy referrals.

Pricing & Payment

Comprehensive evaluations typically range from $1,500 to $4,500, depending on the type and complexity of testing involved. We'll provide a clear cost estimate during your free consultation so there are no surprises.

We are a private pay practice and do not currently accept insurance. However, we can provide a superbill upon request, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We accept payment by check, debit, or credit card. Please note that we are unable to see clients covered by Medicaid at this time.

Cancellation Policy

We ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations or no-shows with less than 48 hours' notice will incur a fee, and we cannot guarantee a reschedule slot. We'll send reminders as your testing day approaches.
