Meet The Team
Dana Gau, Psy.D.
Dr. Dana Gau is a Colorado-licensed psychologist with advanced training and extensive experience in psychological, neuropsychological, and neurodevelopmental assessment across the lifespan. She earned her Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology in 2017 and went on to complete her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in psychological assessment from the same institution in 2021. Dr. Gau completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the Ohio Psychology Internship Consortium, where she received additional comprehensive training in complex diagnostic evaluation and evidence-based assessment practices.
Dr. Gau has years of experience conducting comprehensive diagnostic and differential diagnostic evaluations, helping individuals and families better understand concerns related to neurodevelopmental conditions (such as autism spectrum disorder and ADHD), learning differences, anxiety and mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, personality functioning, and other mental health conditions. She is skilled at disentangling overlapping or complex presentations, ensuring that diagnoses are thoughtful, accurate, and grounded in a deep understanding of each individual’s unique history, strengths, and challenges.
At Mountain Peak Psychology, LLC, Dr. Gau takes a collaborative, compassionate, and thorough approach to assessment. Many clients seek evaluation after years of uncertainty, misdiagnosis, or feeling misunderstood. Therefore, the goal at Mountain Peak Psychology, LLC is not simply to assign a diagnosis but to provide clarity, validation, and practical, individualized recommendations that help clients move forward with confidence. Dr. Gau is passionate about helping people find answers, better understand themselves or their loved ones, and access the most appropriate supports, services, and treatment pathways.
Why Mountain Peak Psychology?
Choosing where to get a psychological evaluation is an important decision. You're trusting someone with your or your child's story, history, and future. The quality of the evaluation, the care of the clinician, and the depth of the resulting report can genuinely shape the trajectory of your care, education, or access to services.
We want to be transparent about what makes Mountain Peak Psychology the kind of practice we've intentionally built, because we believe you deserve to know exactly what you're getting.
Doctoral-Level Expertise
Every evaluation is personally conducted and interpreted by a licensed psychologist with a doctorate and advanced specialty training in assessment.
Assessment-Only Focus
We don't split our attention between therapy, medication, and testing. Psychological assessment is our practice, and that depth of focus benefits every client.
Personal TOUCH, Start to Finish
As a small practice, we ensure every client and family receives individualized care. You'll work directly with the same psychologist from your first call through your final report.
